Accessibility

Built for everyone who shows up.

We want every visitor to be able to read, use and enjoy this site, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they use. Here's where we stand and how to reach us when something is in your way.

The standard we build to

This site is designed and coded to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and to honor the Americans with Disabilities Act in spirit and in practice. That means:

  • Everything you can do with a mouse you can do with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
  • Images carry alternative text; decorative animations are hidden from screen readers.
  • Text and interface colors meet contrast minimums, and the type scales with your browser settings.
  • If your system asks for reduced motion, the animations stop. The page still works.
  • The hero video has no sound and never blocks the content. On data-saver connections it doesn't load at all.
  • Every tap target is at least 44 pixels tall. Checked at every screen width from 320 to 2560 pixels before each release.

How we test

Keyboard-only passes, screen reader passes with VoiceOver, automated checks on every release, and real phones at several sizes.

Known limits

The animated sparkle mark at the bottom of the page is decorative and is skipped by screen readers; the tagline next to it says the same thing in words. Stripe's checkout pages are built by Stripe and we pick the most accessible options they offer.
